Little Traveller

It’s been a week since the little frog set out on his journey. As dusk approached, setting the forest ablaze in a wash of red and orange light, the little frog decides to look for shelter for the night. His thoughts begin to drift to how his journey has been thus far; he sighs, slightly disappointed by how it has been rather uneventful.

Distracted by his thoughts the little frog took a hop and a step further when a tall shadow suddenly loomed over him, causing him to stop abruptly in his tracks. Startled, The little frog looked up to see a young boy, around 10 years of age, standing in front of him with a look of surprise on his face. The look turned into one of amusement as the boy noticed the little frog’s bindle and tanto strapped to his back. Surely this frog is an interesting little fellow! Perhaps he could tag along with the little frog on his travels.

“Hello there!”, said the boy.

The little frog stared at him blankly.

“Are you travelling somewhere?”

The little frog nodded.

“May I accompany you on your travels? Life has been dull and I want to see the world!”

The little frog considered this proposition for a little while. It would be nice to have a companion, he thought. Then maybe, just maybe things wouldn’t be as uneventful as before!

It was settled. He looked at the boy and nodded again, holding out his webbed hand. The boy gasped in joy and he quickly shook the frog’s hand before he could change his mind.

“Thanks! My name is Yuuto. What’s your name?”
“Gurīn. My name is Gurīn.”

The little frog hadn’t had a friend in a while. He’d lost touch with his best friend just after he left the pond he lived in as a tadpole.
The little frog couldn’t help but smile. Maybe with Yuuto’s help, he’ll be able to find his friend one day – and gain another along the way.

Hi everyone Here's a little story to accompany this piece. I have been wanting to write a story for the longest time but never had a clue how to. 
It was until this little image popped up in my mind and while I painted the painting, I began to think of a story. I have decided to illustrate more of Yuuto and  Gurīn's adventure bit by bit and tell their story along the way.
